First Period Experience
Where were you when your first period started? How old were you? Did you talk to your mom, friends? What was your initial reaction? Retrospectively, could it have been different or more positive experience, and, if so, how?

entering into womanhood

Posted by: rosemarie8 on Thu Feb 8, 2007
I was about 12 and I went with "the girls" to Florida for a week in the summer. We went to a reasturant to eat and my stomach started to really hurt and i thought I was getting sick or something. So I excused myself to the bathroom and there it was. I was mortified. I didn't want to tell my two Aunts and Grandma so I just used as much tp as possible and went back out. I made it through the dinner but just wanted to go back to the condo telling them I was sick. Later I was sitting by the pool and my grandma asked why I wasn't swimming and I told her I wasn't hot even though it was atleast 90 out (It was the middle of July). I had to confess my secret. My GRANDMA then called my dad and told him and then called my grandpa.... they were all so excited I had entered womanhood she wanted to take me out for Icecream. When we came back from vacation my entire family had known by then..brothers uncles and all I guess you'd say we are a close knit family.
