Question

Can I get pregnant before my period returns?

Answer

Absolutely. Do not take any chances of having an unintended pregnancy by having unprotected sex. Use contraception for every act of intercourse because you can ovulate as early as 25 days after having your baby if you are not breastfeeding. If you are breastfeeding you can still get pregnant, unless you are less than 3 months postpartum and breastfeeding exclusively.
