TTC After M/C

Are you trying to conceive after one or more miscarriages? How long did you (or will you) wait until TTC again? Who or what has been helpful to you during your difficult time: faith, the support of your partner/friends/families (or did you find them unable to relate?), others who you now found out also m/c'd...

TTC After M/C

fertility after a m/c?

I had an early m/c last month-the 2nd for us. But I noticed cm within days of my last day of bleeding. I don't understand-could I have ovulated that quickly? Or was it just symptoms of O? I do feel differently after this second m/c...not as tired, crampy, etc. Maybe because I had just gotten the pos pg test, it's a faster recovery if its very early? Are you more fertile immediately following a m/c?

TTC After M/C

Period after a M/C

I had my first m/c in late April of this year. I was dating at 8 weeks but measured at 6. It wasn't 'natural', they gave me pills to induce bleeding, but it lasted about 7-10 days. I didn't have a normal period until August 13th. My first cycle was 41 days, but from September to October was more normal at exactly 28. We are not TTC and may not be for a while, for numerous reasons. I was worried for a while about taking so long to start my period again, but the doctor said it could be 2-6 months. Best wishes.

TTC After M/C

Dealing with loss of 12 week baby.

I m/c 8/09 at 12 weeks. Had a D&C. This was my 1st pregnancy; we were/are crushed. I didn't realize I would react that way to the loss. I felt desperately sad, angry, and just plain lost. My husband was supportive, but I did seek the help of a counselor and our pastor who'd also gone through a m/c. Eventually, I was able to do some reading ("Empty Arms", and several other ttc after m/c books) and soul searching. I've come to a place of peace with the loss. It's been helpful to think of our baby, Gus, in heaven with my husband's favorite grandma and all the other loving people we've lost. It gives me great comfort to know they are taking care of our baby, and that s/he will never have to be sick or tired or sad or deal with the bad things of this world. And I've come to believe that as unfortunate as it seems, pain is an inevitable part of life on this Earth. There is no reason m/c happens - no punishment or shortcoming of me, as a mother. It's not personal. It just IS.

It's been 9 weeks since the loss. In the meantime, my body has bounced back, and I have had 2 periods - the 1st 28 days after the D&C, the 2nd 28 days later. I don't think I've ever been that spot on! At any rate, we decided to start trying again right away after my 1st period. Obviously, we did not conceive, but I'd read somewhere that often times one may not ovulate during the 1st cycle after a D&C. I'm not concerned (yet), and we are going to try again. I don't use any opk, but merely track my periods and take an educated guess on when I may ovulate. My family doc said wait 2 cycles, but the gyn surgeon who performed the D&C told me I could try anytime - my body won't allow me to become pregnant if she's not ready! So, husband and I are taking it one day at a time. Events like this have made me realize that our lives are completely out of our control. I have just lifted this up to God and he will give me the strength and patience to trust his plan for me.

TTC After M/C

My recent M/C

My very first pregnancy I miscarried at 6wks, I was young and stayed upset and depressed until about the time I concieved my oldest son who is 7. I was on and off clomid while trying to get pregnant with him. After he was born my husband and I wanted to try about a yr later so they could grow up together. I went thru all the clomid tx on and off for almost 4yrs and thats when I got my 2nd son who is 3. After my marraige ended I met and have dated a guy for about 2yrs now and at the beginning of the year I found out I was pregnant. He has a 13y/o daughter from his previous marraige but has always wanted a boy too. Me getting pregnant was an accident and we were both scared. Of course he wanted me to get rid of it cuz he thought I was gna try to take him for everything since we werent married. Needless to say I decided to keep the baby and paid for all of the md visits myself and never asked for his help, of course we continued to date and around 4mos along I found out we were having a boy. His whole attitude changed, him and his dad were glad they were finally gna have a boy, they even had his named picked out. Well around the end of June I was about 6 mos along when I fell causing me to lose the baby. I have never gone thru so much pain and grief, and of course my bf hid his emotions but I know it took him down pretty hard. Im wanting to try and concieve again which will put me on my 3rd cycle since the incident. Ive already lost all the baby weight, eat like I'm supposed to, and I even keep up with my cycles and intercourse. I dont know if its a mental block or what. I guess I just need some encouragement. As I am here to help anyone else as much as I can.

TTC After M/C

How I got through my first M/C

I had a M/C last month. I was 8 weeks pregnant. At first I was lost...didn't know what to feel. The first time being intimate with my husband after the M/C was emotionally hard. I did over come it. I am now waiting for my first ovulation. Prior to the pregnancy I knew my cycles thanks to this site. After the M/C I had no idea when I was going to ovulate. I am using an ovulation kit right now to help predict. I am 41 and don't want to waste any time.

I sought out support through praying with my husband, confessing my anger with God to my priest and just talking about my experience with others.
