TTC - To Say or Say Not?

While Trying to Conceive, have you found others (even people you barely know) asking prying questions or offering unsolicited advice? Do you think they mean well and just don't think, or are they being meddling and/or on the rude side? Do you respond, ignore it, brew over it all night...?

Ready to give up

I'm so sick of people asking me when I'm going to have a kid. It seems like everyone around me has kids or are pregnant. I've been ttc for over 3 years and I just don't feel like talking about to anyone anymore because its so frustrating, I just feel like giving up. I'm only 23, been married for a year, but my husband and I have been together for 5, living together for 4.

let the madness stop!

My husband and i have been actively trying for over 3 years now. ... before we toyed with the idea, kinda like whatever happens happens. and as time went on and months passed i kinda wondered why it hadn't happened. i'm almost 23 years old now, i "shouldn't" have these problems.. so i thought and boy was i wrong. i have had so many different doctors prying at my girl business, and so many different test and tried everyone of their "solutions" to fix the problem. i traced ovulation using, calendars, the microscope, easy clear plan detector. people are constantly asking when were going to have a lil one.. after all my husband and i have been together for almost 5 years and married for 3. yeah it should have happened by now.. our parents ALWAYS make comments while shopping "wouldn't this look so cute if you had something to put in it" holding up little onsies and outfits. i'm like yeah you have no idea. to make matters worse his mother is a nurse... with 500 billion questions. i am the 2nd oldest out of 4. with my dad marrying and inheriting 2 more children 1 older 1 younger. since i have been ttc; my stepsister got pregnant, my cousin (now on her 2nd) my brothers finance, my other cousin, and 4 of my friends... finally after the never ending rude comments people asking me "are you pregnant yet" and the one i really love at a baby shower "so when am i going to be getting and invite to yours?" as if buying all the gifts and actually attending the shower aren't hard enough... now i get bombarded with questions.. so finally last summer i freaked out and told everyone were trying. having a hard time it'll happen when it happens and lay off.. to no avail they still make comments and still ask questions. now maybe even more.. i pray the madness stops and we become pregnant...i dont know if i can take much more..

TTC and after 18 months maybe successful...!

My boyfriend and I have been TTC for eighteen months now. We haven't told anyone (apart from my sister who already has kids). I'm 28, and during this time of TTC at least five friends of mine have all become pregnant, all without trying and seemingly effortlessly. It's really tough when you can't tell them your trying too, especially as you don't want to rain on their parade as such, I just put a big grin on my face and congratulate them. I was beginning to think either I or my partner are infertile... but... my AF is now 7 days late, and has never happened in my regular 26/27 day cycle (I'm on day 33 now). I've been sick every day for a week and my breasts are swollen and so very painful. I'm nipping to the pharmacy now to get a HPT but am very scared that it will be negative! I have to know though, otherwise there is something else that is causing this horrible queasy sickness!!
Wish me luck!!

Waiting Hopefully

we are TTC and I dont really want to tell anyone until we do. AF is due tomorrow, but I havent had any normal signs yet (not even pms!) so am hopeful, but dont want to get too excited. I have been agonising over whether to test now or wait a few more days. I think I will wait, fingers crossed.

Keep it to Yourselves

My husband and I have been trying since April. We decided not to tell anyone becase I have PCOS we are having a little trouble conceiving.
We just didn't want everyone to know because its hard enough when your already frustrated and someone other than the two of you knows about it and they start trying to console you. It just makes things more complicated in my opinion. My best friend does know but only because she just came out and asked me if we were trying, but other than that she doesn't get nosey about our situation.

Three groups when TTC

I've been trying to conceive for five years. I have found that people come in three groups the first group can relate to my frustration. The second group keeps trying to give advice like we're doing it wrong. And all the weird ways they got pregnant that I've tried a thousand times already. The third group keeps saying wonderful stuff like "What's so hard about it"? "Why do you want a baby so bad"? "Stop trying it will happen." I honestly don't want to know how other people just did it once and got pregnant. I think people need to back off. It's nice hearing that I'm not the only one. However, the other two groups just make me want to let out a blood curdling scream. It depends what mood I'm in how I react to the advice.
