SAHM or Working Mom?

Did you (or will you) stop working and be a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM)? Why or why not? Any regrets in your decision, like do you find yourself wanting to go back to work, or in the middle of a meeting do you wish you were home instead? What would you tell other mom-to-bes who are considering being a SAHM - do it or not?

SAHM or Working Mom?

I Love Being a SAHM

My DD is now 6 and we are TTC number 2. My plan was to go back to work after she began Kindergarten, knowing we would be in need of money for fun reasons, but the basic bills would be paid. Well, she is now in the 1st grade and we want another baby. DH and I both both agree that I should stay home again with this one. Basically I would only be working to afford the gas and daycare, anyway, and we both rather have me raising the children. I understand families that need daycare, etc, and I am not saying anything bad about it. It was just a personal choice for us to have me stay home. We have made sacrafices as far as new "toys" etc but that's not important to us. I have always been told that while I am 26, I am an old soul or that I belong to the 50's. I love the idea of the hubby going to work, and I stay home being the mommy. It may sound silly I know, but I have never in my life heard some one say, " I wish I worked more and spent less time with my children", I have, however, heard plenty of people say, "I wish I had spent more time with my children while the were young." Being a SAHM is completely a personal choice, but I wouldnt want it any other way.

SAHM

I stayed home with my son for the first year and I loved it. It gave me a chance to bond with him the way I wanted to. My husband and I did have some financial problems but you can alwasy find a way to make things work if you want it bad enough. We are currently trying for our second child and I plan on staying home with this one as well and hopefully just being a full time mommy and not going back to worka nd of I do it will be part time. Your kids are only small once so enjoy every minute that you can, you will be glad that you did in the long run

I stopped working for the first 6months of my sons life. After that I worked p/t. We sacrificed a lot when I stopped working f/t to be a SAHM. No dinners out, no fancy cars or clothing, no expensive trips, no big screen tv or other latest new "toys". It was totally worth it to me. My son is now 4 and I don't regret my choice to be a SAHM. It is the most satisfying job in the world in my opinion.

Be a SAHM

If you are considering being a SAHM, I say do it. I was with some of my children and I enjoyed it. If I could, I would be one now. I have 7 children but I can't now that I am divorced. If there was a way, I would. Enjoy your baby,he/she is only little once.

Business

I think it's wonderful if you're able to be a SAHM, however, sometimes it's just not financially possible. My husband & I started a business where we can create residual income, for the purpose of letting me retire from my job, and eventually become a SAHM. Right now we are in the beginning stages of our business, but we can't wait for me to be home....and start a family! :-)

I WISH!!!

If I could I would. We're barely in a financial position that we can even HAVE children, let alone not work. I would love to though! I would for sure if I could!
