SAHM or Working Mom?

Did you (or will you) stop working and be a Stay at Home Mom (SAHM)? Why or why not? Any regrets in your decision, like do you find yourself wanting to go back to work, or in the middle of a meeting do you wish you were home instead? What would you tell other mom-to-bes who are considering being a SAHM - do it or not?

SAHM or Working Mom?

WAHM/SAHM

I was fortunate enough not to have to work full time with my 2 oldest after they were born and until they were about a year old at which point they wre both in full time daycare.
I am now a full time stay at home mom. I love it most days, but I have to admit that I miss that challenge of work.
My advice if you're going to be a SAHM is to get involved in a Moms group either through your church, community center, etc. I've found a group that has been GREAT!
I think that you have to make the choice and figure out what's best for you. Everyone is different :)

stay home

I had no choice but to work after I had my kids. Its the best thing to do if you can, because now a days you cannot trust anybody, and I mean anybody,so I say if you can afford to stay home do it.

SAHM or Working Mom?

SAHM 5 out of 7 Days...Love it!

I have a 13 month old daughter, and for the first 6 months, I was a full time SAHM. I was going stir crazy and getting lonely, so I found a part time, 2 day a week job and I love it! I am fortunate enough that my husband's income fully supports our family and that my mom watches our daughter the 2 days that I work. The income I make goes to pay my mom for daycare, then the rest (which isn't much) is my fun money. It is a great situation for my family. I love getting out of the house 2 days a week, and having some adult interaction, plus getting to dress up nice again! We also have a weekly play date with my friends and their kids. Sitting at home 24/7 just isn't for us!

Undecided-SAHM or Working Mom

We are going to TTC this summer. I think about what I will do when I do become a mom. Do I go back to work or stay home? I feel like at this time in my life, I will need and probably want to come back to work. I have a good job and enjoy the people that I'm around. I'm sure my mind will change once I have a child, but I truly feel like I'll return to work after I have a baby. If money grew on trees, I'm sure I'd stay home and enjoy every minute with my child!

Famine or Feast - SAHM

Been there, done that and back again. I have 8 children on a single income. My husband and I have done it this way through famine and feast. During times of famine we worked our butts off saving, sacrificing and using tons of self control to make sure we could provide for our ever increasing family. I find our church to be very helpful 9 times out of 10. Things always seem to work out.

SAHM or Working Mom?

If I could afford it, I would

I would love to be a SAHM, but we truly cannot afford it. My husband's salary covers only our mortgage and our car payment- that's it. I wish it could be otherwise, but the cost of living is very high where we live.
