When do you take a pregnancy test?

At what point during your cycle do you take a pregnancy test? If you are trying to conceive do you wait the Two Week Wait, or do you start testing earlier? Or, if you're not trying to conceive, how late are you when you start testing?

When do you take a pregnancy test?

The HPT

With both of my sons, I took a HPT when I was five days late. I took them both in the evening with my DH waiting with me.
I tried recently to take a pregnancy test two days early and it was negative to my dismay. But I also started my AF the next day.

When do you take a pregnancy test?

TTC and can't decide!

The first and only time I've had cause to take a pregnancy test, I was 10 days late. I'm -never- late. Unfortunately, it was negative and I started the very next day.

Now, DH and I are TTC. I can't decide if I should wait and see if I miss my period to test, or if I should test a few days before it's due. The reason for my indecision is that...well...I'm due to start on my birthday. Three days before my birthday I'm supposed to go out with some friends. I know alcohol will be involved, and I'd like to know I have the all-clear before I drink!

When do you take a pregnancy test?

Early testing

With my first child (he's 3 now) I was actually 9 weeks before I tested. I had no pregnancy symptoms and I've always had irregular periods so I thought nothing of skipping a couple. With my second child (15 months) I was 13 DPO! I used a FIRST RESPONSE and tested positive! I am now TTC my 3rd and I'm hoping to test in a few days.

When do you take a pregnancy test?

I would wait 2-3 weeks but take it easy.

I have a beautiful little 2 year old little girl, and are trying for a 2nd child. I misscarried twice since witch is weird 1st time misscarried after 4 weeks 2nd time took a preg test four times which came showed possitive cos i couldnt beleive it spent £60 on really good tests , two days later got my period was devastated docter said egg didnt attach to the uterus. still trying monitoring my cycles now on this site and when i ovulate hopefully that will time it better. I think best thing is not to test to early so you dont get let down if your period starts and have early misscarrige, docter said so many women have really heavy periods but dont realise they are having early misscarriages. good luck

When do you take a pregnancy test?

regular period becomes confusing just in time for ttc

I have had VERY regular cycles for over a year now. Always 30 or 31 days. In August, me and DH decided to start trying for a baby. My period ended up being quite late, which was exciting, until it came. My cycle that month ended up being 34 days, but AF came normally. We tried again this month, and my breasts became sore soon after. I was excited again until I started having some blood on cycle day 26. By the end of the day, I was cramping a lot and it seemed like AF was here. At first I thought maybe implantation bleeding until it became heavy. I used a HPT which was negative, but technically I thought I was testing early since my period wasn't due yet. I might test again on the day my period was due. I don't know why I seem to be early this month after being late last month. The only thing is I started taking thyroid meds almost right after my last period.
I just want a little one!
