No Periods, Less Periods

Period suppression is currently a very hot topic. Will you (or do you already) take prescription meds to stop your period, or to have less periods a year? Why or why not?

Our Periods--One Characteristic That Separates Us from Men

Our periods are something that make us unique as women. They allow us to give birth to children. They are part of a cycle that only WE, as women, can claim as our own.
Don't get me wrong, I love our human counterpart. I also love the fact that we are different in so many wonderful ways. I know that bleeding for 4-7 days out of the month is not very glamorous, but women have found ways to do so with grace. Imagine how men would react to this phenomenon.
I do not think I would ever take something to mess with my period. Maybe it IS because I take pride in being a female, but perhaps it is also because I do not want to play God. I enjoy my role as a woman, even the less "glamorous" things that come with it, including my period.

Not for me

I will not take meds to stop or reduce the number of periods I have. It to me is a normal cycle and a cleansing process.

Yes to No Periods

I'm seriously thinking of stopping my periods. Or at least making them better, at the moment they are unbearable. I throw up and get in so much pain I cry, I have to change every hour even if I'm using the highest absorbancy tampon and pad. There is no way I could leave the house without having both a tampon and a sanitary towel on. My boobs swell two cups bigger and I can't sleep. I have migraines and black outs and threatened anemia and all sorts. And I'm only 18! There is no way I'm doing this right through until my 40s and with my family history it looks like it's going to be late 40s at that.

Stick with what nature intended

NO WAY!! Women are supposed to have periods and messing with what is natural for our bodies seems that it can only lead to trouble down the road. To me that would be like taking some kind of medication so that you don't go to the bathroom regularly simply because it seems "inconvenient"

No Periods, Less Periods

I would not stop my period

I would not. I have irregular periods, and I pray each month for it to come. Especially that I am trying to conceive. I am approaching the mid thirties and I fear the thought of not having a child before I hit 40; so the idea of taking meds to stop my period or even to reduce the flow is not an option for me at all.
