When Did You Decide Baby Names?

At what point did you select the name that you actually gave your baby? Before you were pregnant, during pregnancy, after delivery?

When Did You Decide Baby Names?

Name was picked between 3-6 months of my pregnancy

When I was 3 months pregnant I had the first name if it was a girl and we decided it would be a jr. if it was a boy. At the ultrasound we found out it was a girl and picked a middle name then. Mya JaNae is now 7 years old :)

When Did You Decide Baby Names?

Named at Ultrasound

My husband and I had several discussions about names over the course of our 10 year relationship (only been married almost 2 and we have an 8 month old). But, we didn't decide on a name until just before the ultrasound to find out the sex. We wanted to call the child by his or her name the minute we found out about him/her. We asked the ultrasound tech, "Is it Bronsen Rex or Kitsen Kayleena?" She replied, "It's definately a Bronsen Rex." Bronsen Rex is now 8 months old and we are trying again. If we have a girl she will still be Kitsen, if we have a boy we have already decided on Olsen. My husband wants Jensen, since my name is Jen, but he doesn't get to have the final word! Ladies just remember that!

When Did You Decide Baby Names?

Second or Third date!

We decided our first baby names on like our second or third date, and were discussing children way before that. I met my fiance 2 weeks after I had the miscarriage of my first child, so babies were on my brain. He has been the most supportive and wonderful man, and I couldn't ask for more than this ready made little family I found myself in. Everyone had told me that my baby passed for a reason and I hadn't believed them, but slowly I'm starting to think that this was God's plan all along. Now, I'm TTC Ciaran Ethan or Eliza Gabrielle

When Did You Decide Baby Names?

Before we were engaged! O.O

It's funny, my hubby and I decided on baby names when we were -dating-! I'd say it was a good 5 years ago, actually. We were randomly talking about names, and he told me that any son he had, his middle name had to be Lee, since it was a family name. He also had a close friend in school named Ashley (he died rather tragically), but I don't like that name for a boy. I said "ooo, what about Ashton...Ashton Lee?" He liked that, and it still remains our top choice. (I swear, though, if we have two boys, he has no choice but to let me name the second Noah Dale. Dale was my grandfather's name.) As for girls, we have two names selected. Kaitlyn Elizabeth, because Kaitlyn has been my favourite name since childhood, and my grandmother's name is Betty, and Lily Belle (or Anne, or Catherine). We're TTC now, and hoping for success without a doctor's help.

When Did You Decide Baby Names?

naming babies

baby#1 i named 3 days after she was born. baby#2 i named a month or so before she was born. baby#3 is still on it's way so i haven't put much thought into a name yet. my bf on the other hand has picked out a boy name that he wants for his son so badly and i can't stand the name so i have a feeling if it's a boy there's going to be a problem LOL! good thing i always fill out the registration papers!
middle names are usually what we have figured out first and work with it from there.

When Did You Decide Baby Names?

At 10 weeks to keep sane :)

Hi Ladies!

I used this site to help me concieve my first child who is now 7 months old! My DH and I knew would might fight iver names and keep changing it while I was pregnant so at 10 weeks preggers we came up with a boy name and a girl name and swore we wouldn't change it for anything. At 15 weeks we found out it was a boy and we both looked at the screen and said high Everett, it was such a special moment. The only bit of advice I have for baby names is to wait on telling pessimistic people if you don't like to be critisized. My husbands family had nothing but bad comments on the name and made us feel bad for a name we loved.

Good Luck, happy baby naming!
